4th Lancaster Camp

Lancaster Observer and Morecambe Chronicle 20 June 1919:
HALTON
BOY SCOUTS. — The Boy Scouts of the 4th Lancaster Troop under Scoutmaster R. E. Wright, spent last week in camp at the Forge Wood, by kind permission of Mr Irving. The camp was beautifully situated on an incline on the bank of the Lune. About 50 Rovers and scouts attended. On Whit-Sunday a church parade was held at St. Wilfrid’s Church, and at night, Scouts spent a happy time round the campfire, when hymns were sung, accompanied by Rover L. Brown (violinist). The Cave at Dunald Mill was visited, and proved very interesting. Many parents and friends from Lancaster visited the camp during the week.
