24th Lancasters Win City Shield
Favourable weather conditions during the week-end helped to ensure the success of the City Shield competition which was held at Askew Hill Farm, Quernmore. The event this year was based on camping standards, and the adjudicator, Mr. J. Leach, Assistant County Commissioner for Training, said the standard shown was of a high order. The placings were: 24th Lancaster (St. Chad’s), 79 points : 3rd Lancaster (RGS), 77: 20th Lancaster (Friends), 77: 4th Lancaster (Sulyard St. Wesley) , 75: 16th Lancaster (St. Paul’s), 72. Mr. J. Naylon conducted the camp fire on Saturday evening.
