Appointment of a New Group Scout Leader – 13th Lancaster Scout Group
I am delighted to inform you that I have appointed Simon Hester as the new Group Scout Leader at 13th Lancaster Scout Group, taking over from Pat at the Group AGM on the 12th June. Simon will be known to all of you, as a Scout Leader, and through having his own family involved in the Group. I am confident that Simon has the energy, enthusiasm, vision and commitment to lead the Group forward and build on the many successes.
I have also appointed Debbie Smith as the Assistant Group Scout Leader to work with Simon. This is an exciting time for the Group, with two passionate and dedicated volunteers who are keen to lead the Group, and work with everyone involved. I am grateful to them both for accepting these important roles. I’d also like to thank Kate Norman, the Group Chair, for her support with the recruitment process.
In the coming weeks I will meet with Simon and Debbie to discuss the priorities for the group in the coming year, and to divide some of the responsibilities between them both.
Whilst I will have chance to thank her at the AGM, I’d like to thank Pat Griffin for her outstanding contribution to 13th Lancaster as Group Scout Leader. Pat’s unwavering commitment and dedication to Scouting is quite simply inspiring. The Group is better, by every measure, for Pat’s leadership.
13th Lancaster continues to go from strength to strength, and is in a very strong position to move forward, there is a dedicated team of adults offering young people wonderful opportunities. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for all that you do, and encourage you to continue to work together, to support Simon and Debbie, to offer more exciting opportunities to young people and adults in the community.
Finally, I’d like to wish you all the very best for the summer season.
Yours in Scouting
