IN CAMP.
Bolton-le-Sands Scout Troop left the village on Saturday for their camp at Brignor (Brignall?), Durham. They were accompanied by Scoutmaster Senior and Assistant Scoutmasters C. Moffat and C. Fryer*. The Girl Guides under Mrs. Langhorne (captain) are in camp at the Holiday Fellowship Camp at Staithes, East Yorks.
* Possibly Joseph Charles Fryer born 27 Aug 1918. In 1939 living at Sandside, The Shore, at Bolton le Sands, a wood-working machinist. Died 2002 in Lancaster. His father was Harry Fryer – a newsagent in 1939.

The First Bolton-le-Sands Boy Scouts, accompanied by the Scoutmaster (Mr. Fryer) and the Scouts’ committee had an enjoyable outing on Thursday evening by motor coach to Blackpool.

CHURCH SERVICES
On Sunday a special service was held at St. Mary of the Angels in connection with the youths “Day of Prayer” was held. Special prayers were recited and Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament was held from the 10.15 Mass until the Benediction service in the afternoon. Father Fitzsimmons officiated. At the Parish Church the Bolton-le-Sands Boy Scouts attended the services in charge of Mr. Edgar (Scoutmaster). The Rev. E. Shufflebottom officiated.

SCOUTS’ WHIST DRIVE
(includes) The ninth annual celebration of the formation of the 1st Bolton-le-Sands Boy Scouts under the presidency of Scoutmaster (Mr. J. Edgar) was held at Headquarters on Tuesday. A very enjoyable evening was spent. A potato pie supper was served by the Committee, of which Mr. Higson is chairman.

First Bolton-le-Sands Scouts, enjoyed a week-end camp in Mr. Hogarth’s field, Slyne. The Scoutmaster in charge was Mr. Edgar.

The first Bolton-le-Sands Scouts are (in company with the Lancaster Troop) spending a week’s camp at Windermere. The Scoutmaster, Mr. Edgar, is stationed with His Majesty’s Forces.
