SILVERDALE.
BOY SCOUTS’ CAMP.
The 1st Silverdale Troop of Boy Scouts and the 1st Silverdale Wolf Cubs, have been in camp for two consecutive weeks in the Isle of Man. The Scouts, who totalled 16, were in charge of Group Scoutmaster S. T. Whalan, with Mr. G. Askew (Assistant Scout master and treasurer). The Wolf Cubs, who returned on Saturday, have also pleasant recollections of their visit. They were accompanied by Mr. W. Bolton (Cubmaster), and Mr. R. Richmond (Scoutmaster).

LEAGUE OF NATIONS UNION.
A public meeting arranged in connection with the local branch of the League of Nations Union was held in the Gaskell Memorial Hall on Wednesday evening. There was a large attendance.

During the evening Miss Marion Allen rendered two songs “Bird of Love Divine,” and “Open thy blue eyes.” Boy scouts under the direction of Mr. R. Richmond (Scoutmaster), gave a sketch entitled “The little Scout and the big bully,” the characters being well portrayed by B. Lucas, R. Taylor and T. Holmes. Four scouts (Wilbert Fielden, Eric Irvine, Alan McLachlan and Teddy Holmes sang “The Boys of the Old Village Choir”. The Wolf Cubs also gave pleasing exhibitions of bell drill. Miss Kay was the accompanist.
