INVESTITURE.
It is a big moment when you are admitted into the great brotherhood of Scouts, and make your first promise as a Cub. There were a lot of proud youngsters at St. Chad’s on Wednesday evening when  Cubmaster Eva Hewitt* conducted an investiture of the newly formed 24th Lancaster Pack. This pleasing ceremony took place before an interested gathering of parents and friends, including the Revs. H. G. Moss and R. R. Bell, A.D.C. R. E. Wright, Scoutmaster H. L. Wareing** and Scouts of the 27th Lancaster. There are four sixes, comprising a pack of nineteen Cubs to date, and they were deserving of the congratulations paid to them by the Rev. H. G. Moss, who wished them every success. We shall watch their progress with interest. The assistant Cubmasters are Joan Williams and Margaret Hewitt. Those enrolled are Senior Sixer, H. Johnson; Sixers, P. Dudley, F. Sainsbury, G. Darke; seconds, D. Harrison, N. Dobbie, S. Buck, A. Harrison; Cubs, B. Williams, P. Giles, A. Hislop, B. Jarvis, J. Knowles, G. Fairbrother, T. Thorpe, R. Williamson, A. Poole, K. Ineson, and I. Dobbie. Cub games were played and the meeting closed with the Grand Howl and prayers. Light refreshments were served.
