Schools & Youth Clubs

Both of the Lonsdale Scouts Activity Centres are available for use by schools and youth clubs. There are options for day visits and multi-day residentials.

There are many options that will be suitable for all school-aged children.

  • Forest & Nature Days for all ages - come and spend a day outdoors doing a variety of nature inspired activities such as Den Building, Nature trail quiz, bug hunting, tree measuring, bark rubbing and woodland meditation.
  • Creative days for all ages - come and have fun with different outdoor activities such as Nature sculptures, wild art, kite making, mud creations, bug hut making.
  • Adventurous activities days, ideal for KS2 & older children. Activities could include Tomahawk throwing, pioneering, orienteering, archery & wide games.

You can come for the day or, for groups of 30 or less, stay overnight in a bunk house lodge.

There is no public access to either site and, on most school days, the sites are available for sole school use.

We can design bespoke sessions to meet with your educational programme.

We can also organise a FREE Taster session for KS2 classes at either our Littledale or SilverHelme sites during or after a normal school day.

Activities offered are:

  • Orienteering - The activity will give pupils practical trigonometry and maths experience, along with the competitive challenge of a new sport.
  • Disc (Frisbee) Golf (Littledale only) - The activity will teach pupils about basic aerodynamics, angles, distance and accuracy, along with the competitive challenge of a new sport. The activity can also link to many other Key Stage 2 Science and maths topics.
