Re: Membership Fee 2016
Following the recent District Executive meeting, we are writing to advise you of the membership fee for 2016. Despite, having ambitious plans for the District in the year ahead, we are pleased to inform you that there will be no change to the District Levy.
The membership fee, will therefore be as follows:
District Levy: £10.50
District Jamboree Fund: 50p
HQ Fee: £25.50
Total: £36.50
You will also be aware that the Scout Association announced earlier this year that there would be no membership fee for adult members from this year. We are delighted to inform you that the District Executive has extended that policy so that adult members will also not pay the District Levy.
Within the budget we remain committed to investing in Scouting for all, development and renewing our commitment to supporting Scout Groups, Explorer Scout Units and our new District Scout Network. With that, we’d like to highlight some of our key changes to the budget this year:
1) From 1st January, Getting Started Training, Safety Training and Safeguarding Training will be funded by the District for all adults.
2) To support the Cub Section during a very special year and to ensure that the centenary celebrations are accessible to all, we will be funding the transport for the Cubs 10,000 event at Blackpool Pleasure Beach as well as funding the promise party and the thank you event. In addition to this, we will be providing financial support for those Cubs who will attend the international camp in Dublin.
3) We have retained a number of funds to offer financial support for groups and individuals, namely the Development Fund, International Fund and the Scouting for All Fund.
We hope you will find this additional support helpful, as we continue to strive to improve our programme, grow our membership, be more inclusive and be shaped by young people in partnership with adults.
Thank you for all that you do.
Yours in Scouting,
Tony Andrews, District Chairman
