HORSE power was replaced by manpower when the 13th Lancaster Castleton Venture Scouts decided to pull an 18-ton narrow boat along the canal from Galgate to Lancaster.
The group set off on Saturday morning to pull the Duke of Lancaster from Galgate Marina, carrying on board a barrel of beer.
The cargo was destined for the Alex in Lancaster, where the thirsty workers could have their reward — and the event was held to raise money for the group’s new headquarters.
