Cub Scouts and their families and Leaders from all over Lonsdale gathered at Caton Church on Friday 30th September 2011 to receive their Chief Scout’s Silver Awards from Assistant District Commissioner (Cubs) Mrs Pat Armstrong. Lonsdale District Commissioner Mrs Pat Griffin was also in attendance at this special event.
This award is the highest that a Cub can achieve and requires a commitment to undertake tasks and activities both as part of a Cub Pack and at home.
In all 31 youngsters were celebrated at this ceremony. As well as receiving their awards, they were treated to a presentation from Matthew Allpin, an Explorer Scout from Lonsdale District who has recently returned from the World Scout Jamboree in Sweden.
