Dear Leaders,
Re: Swimming Gala- 13th July – Change of Times
Thanks for entering a team into this year’s District Swimming Gala at Lancaster University Sports Centre which will take place this Saturday 13th July.
Due to a decrease in the number of teams entering I have decided to shorten the length of the gala, for two reasons:
1) It will save us money as we pay per hour for the pool.
2) It will mean that leaders aren’t waiting around in between the two galas that we normally have.
With this in mind the Swimming Gala will now run from 4.30pm – 6pm for Beavers and Cubs and from 6 until 7.30pm for Scouts. (No Explorer Teams have entered due to another event) Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience that this may cause, but I do feel this is in the best interests of everybody.
So, I look forward to seeing you on Saturday and remind you that it will be £1 for spectators and that children may need a £1 coin for a locker. There will be a reserved area of seating for swimmers, and I ask that you have a banner to make it easy for us to identify your team. Any teams that have trophies from last year are asked to bring them along. I hope we have a really good event and that above all the children have a fantastic time.
