Appointment of Group Scout Leader 5th Lancaster (Cathedral and St.Bernadette’s)
Following an open search process, I have appointed David Saul as the next Group Scout Leader for 5th Lancaster. David will begin working alongside Mandy Sweet for a handover that will conclude in December.
David will be known to all of you as an Assistant Cub Scout Leader at the Group. With his Scouting experience and professional background, I am confident that David has the skills and drive to lead further improvements at the Group.
5th Lancaster has had a fantastic year. There are more young people and adults in the Group, with adults undertaking training and some fantastic programmes on offer. Moving forward, I have asked Mandy and David to focus on the following areas:
- Establishing a Group Executive Committee.
- Ensuring that all adults in the Group have completed the necessary training.
- Continue to hold regular leaders meetings to discuss linking, training and joint Group events.
Finally, I’d like to thank Mandy Sweet, who has done an outstanding job as Acting Group Scout Leader. She has led the Group with skill, enthusiasm and determination and I know she feels that the Group has a very bright future.
