Appointment of Group Scout Leader – 3rd Hornby Scout Group
I am delighted to inform you that I have appointed Katy Waddington as the Group Scout Leader at 3rd Hornby Scout Group from the 1st January 2017. Katy will be known to most of you, as a Cub Parent, however she also has a background as Beaver Scout Leader at 2nd Bolton le Sands and when coupled with her business experience she is very well placed to lead the Group through its next chapter.
I’d also like to thank Pat Armstrong, for her dedicated and committed leadership of the group as Group Scout Leader. By any measure, the Group is stronger now as a result of her hard work and I am truly grateful for that.
I have already met with Katy to discuss the following priorities for the group in the coming year:
• Re-establish the Beaver Scout Section.
• Review all leaders’ training, ensuring that everyone has a personal learning plan.
• Work with leaders to gain Nights Away Permits.
• Strengthen and develop the role of the Group Executive Committee.
3rd Hornby is in a very strong position to move forward, it has a dedicated team of adults offering young people wonderful opportunities. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for all that you do, and encourage you to continue to work together, to support Katy, to grow the group and offer more exciting opportunities to young people and adults.
