Scouts of the 5th Morecambe & Heysham troop (St. John’s) went to Yealand Conyers, near Carnforth, last Tuesday, with the object of passing tests in tree recognition, fire lighting and cooking. Assistant Scoutmaster Colin Walker, who entered the R.A.F. on Friday, was in charge.
Successful in becoming second class scouts were George Harrison, Billy Pearson, Joe Collins, Jimmy Lamb and Brian Gray.
