THE GUARDIAN, FRIDAY 5 JUNE, 1931
LANCASTER DAY BY DAY
A MIDNIGHT “HIKE”.
A number of Rover scouts from the different Lancaster troops left Lancaster on Saturday evening at about 10.0 for a midnight hike. Their route lay in a direction similar to that of the Sulyard Street Wesley Guild who held a hike ramble some weeks ago. The scouts went over High Cross Moor and by Jubilee Tower to Abbeystead, and back by Wyresdale and Ellel. A clouded moon was their only light and means of direction but this difficulty was easily overcome by the able leader Mr. J. Atkinson. The party arrived back at 6.30 on Sunday morning feeling none the worse for their venture.
