Beavers 6-8 yrs

Beaver Scouts are young people usually aged between 6 and 8 years old. They belong to the first and youngest Section in the Scouting family. Young people can join Beaver Scouts in the three months leading up to their sixth birthday. They can move to the next Section, Cub Scouts, between 8 and 8½ years of age.

Beaver Scouts became a part of The Scout Association officially in 1986 and so 2016 marks their 30th anniversary. There was an article in the local newspaper back in 1986 reporting on “Lancaster’s first colony”. Click here to read the article.
