Selection of Participants for the World Scout Jamboree in Japan, 2015.
The selection team were over-whelmed by the calibre and quality of the 28 people who attended a selection event at Silverhelme Campsite last weekend. The decision to pick just four young people to send to the Jamboree was incredibly difficult, and we hope that those who were unsuccessful take part in some of the many other international opportunities available to them. They all have so much to offer Scouting, and so much that they can still gain from it.
I would like to congratulate the following Scouts and Explorers on their selection to represent Lonsdale in Summer 2015 at The World Scout Jamboree:
• Lydia Maun, Castleton Explorer Scouts/ Young Leader
• Alice Steele, Silverhelme Explorer Scouts/ Young Leader
• Luke Wilkinson, Castleton Explorer Scouts/ Young Leader
• Patrick Wilkinson, 53rd Lancaster Scouts (No relation to Luke)
Exciting times lie ahead for them as they fundraise and prepare for this unique opportunity. For now, I know that you will all join with me in wishing them warm congratulations and offering them our support.
With Best Wishes,
Craig Dewar
